Join Rochester area families for the NASA Science and Technology on the Family Calendar project and work with Rochester Institute of Technology to plan, design and host your own NASA themed museum event at Rochester Museum and Science Center (RMSC).
RMSC and RIT are recruiting families with kids in Middle School to team up for meetings every two weeks where you can make new friends, learn about NASA science and technology, participate in interactive experiences and activities, and get an up-close look at a world-class college environment. With the resources available, and your combined imaginations, your museum event is sure to be out of this world!
Time commitment: Participate in meetings at RMSC and RIT from 6pm to 8pm on seven Thursday evenings: Jan. 31, Feb. 14, Feb. 28, Mar. 14, Mar. 28, Apr. 11, and Apr. 18. Help staff your event for at least 2 ½ hours on Saturday, April 20 or Sunday, April 21 between 11:45am and 4:15pm. Parents or guardians and their kids work together throughout the project (this is not a drop-off activity).
Location: Most meetings will be at the Rochester Museum & Science Center, either in the Museum building or the Strasenburgh Planetarium. At least one meeting will also be held at RIT, giving families a glimpse of college from the inside.
